2027 STRATEGY: Saraki mobilizes grassroots, eyes PDP revival in Kwara
As the countdown to the 2027 general elections begins to gather steam, former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has kicked off a high-intensity reconciliation and mobilization drive to fortify the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State.
Over the past week, the Saraki home has become a hub of political activity, hosting a series of strategic sessions with party leaders, ward executives, and key stakeholders from across Ilorin West and Ilorin East Local Government Areas.
Timed to coincide with Iftar and Maghrib prayers, these engagements were designed to blend spiritual fellowship with hard-nosed political organizing. The core message? Grassroots readiness.

Addressing the party faithful, Saraki emphasized that the path to victory in 2027 is paved with data and discipline.
“Organisation, mobilisation, and ensuring that our supporters are duly registered must remain our collective focus,” Saraki stated.
In response, ward representatives provided progress reports on local activities, pledging their renewed commitment to expanding the party’s reach at the polling unit level.
A call for ‘one house’
Beyond mobilization, Saraki is making a concerted effort to mend internal fractures. In a meeting with a heavyweight group of former local government chairpersons, supervising councillors, and former councillors, he pushed a message of total reconciliation.
“The PDP remains a shared home for all of us,” he urged. “Let us put the past behind us and move forward together.”
The week’s activities also highlighted a shift toward demographic inclusivity. On Thursday, Saraki hosted young women from Ilorin South LGA, advocating for their increased presence in leadership roles.
Parallel to the political meetings, the Ile-Arugbo initiative continued its humanitarian work, distributing food support to elderly women within the Ilorin metropolis.
By combining voter registration drives with high-level reconciliation and community welfare, Saraki is signaling that the PDP intends to be a more organized and unified force long before the first ballot is cast in 2027.
