Aide gets sack letter for leaking Governor Soludo’s ‘Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo’ dance
The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Soludo, has taken decisive action by terminating the employment of an aide due to the unauthorized release of a video featuring the governor in a “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo” dance.
Reports said the video was secretly shot when there was an order for the proceedings at the venue to be off-record.
Governor Soludo had specifically requested that the moment be off-the-record before he began the dancing, according to a source.
The source added that a majority in attendance complied to the instruction but for a staff that secretly recorded and leaked the video.
“It was a surprise to the governor that the video leaked,” said the source, adding that, “He had asked everyone to put their cameras away and keep the moment private. We’re still investigating how the video got out.”
The video, which went viral, showed Governor Soludo dancing to the tune with his officials and guests during the state’s 33rd anniversary celebration.

The leaker of the video was sacked after being suspected to be a mole working for the opposition, it was alleged.
A source who attended the event was quoted as saying that, “The governor’s action was not meant for public consumption. It was a private moment meant to bring levity and joy to the occasion.
“We’re disappointed it was leaked and are taking steps to hold those responsible accountable.”
The “Gwo Gwo Gwo Ngwo” dance has gained popularity within certain social circles, potentially becoming a cultural phenomenon or trend. However, its association with the governor’s office has led to concerns about how such activities reflect on the administration’s image. The leaked video reportedly showcased not only the dance but also involved elements that could be perceived as frivolous or unprofessional for someone in a government position.
