How Cristiano Ronaldo responded to Al Hilal player trying to fight him
Ali Al-Bulayhi seemingly has something against GOATs, according to Yardbarker
He famously got in the face of Lionel Messi during Saudi Arabia’s shock 2-1 win over Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
One year and nine days later, Al-Bulayhi clashed with Cristiano Ronaldo as Al-Hilal beat Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League this week.
On Friday Al Hilal took on rivals Al Nassr at the King Fahd International Stadium for the first Riyadh derby of the season.
Tensions were high for the encounter, with the hosts just ahead of Al Nassr in the league standings before the game.
And one Al Hilal player brought that tension onto the pitch by seemingly offering up Ronaldo for a fight in the first-half.
Ali Al-Bulayhi pugnaciously squared up to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, furiously gesticulating at the Portuguese star.
Ronaldo responded by putting his hand to his ear, cooly gesturing that he could not hear Al-Bulayhi’s taunts.
Fans were quick to comment on the incident on X, the social media platform formally known as Twitter.
One person wrote: “Unknown guy tryna beef with Ronaldo.”
Another said: “Who’s that CLOWN?”
A third wrote: “It’s always the ones that have like 10k followers and are unknown and do this to get Messi fans love.”
A fourth person joked: “He wanted a pic with Ronaldo.”

Moreover, many people noted that Al-Bulayhi had also been involved in an altercation with Lionel Messi at the Qatar World Cup, when Saudi Arabia claimed a famous win over the eventual world champions Argentina.
The Riyadh derby ended with a 3-0 victory for Al Hilal, courtesy of a goal from Sergej Milinković-Savić and a brace from former Fulham marksman Aleksandar Mitrović.
Elsewhere, Ronaldo saw a wonder-strike denied by an incredibly narrow offside decision while Al-Bulayhi was ultimately sent off for dissent in injury time.
The win sees Al Hilal go seven points clear of Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League table.
