Thierry Henry advises Kylian Mbappe for ‘thinking he’s bigger than PSG’
Arsenal and France legend, Thierry Henry, came down hard on Kylian Mbappe after the Paris Saint-Germain and France superstar complained about the role he is playing in.
Mbappe has hit 12 goals in all competitions for PSG this term but his attitude has continued to be a talking point and speculation surrounding his future has not gone away.
After PSG’s 0-0 draw with Reims on Monday, Mbappe took to Instagram and posted an image of himself from the game, with the hashtag “pivot gang”.
He deleted the post shortly afterwards but further word on Mbappe’s situation emerged on Tuesday as it has been claimed his relationship with PSG and he wishes to leave in January.
But Henry, who came through at AS Monaco like Mbappe, has blasted the 23-year-old.
He talked about having to play in a different position at Barcelona to accommodate Lionel Messi and simply getting on with it.
“Nobody likes to be exposed to what you’re not good at,” Henry said on CBS Sports.
“You just don’t like it. But there is something that is bigger than anything else and that is the club.
“But did they make him feel like the club was the most important thing or did they make him feel like he was more important than the club?
“I didn’t like it after a hundred caps and I don’t know how many goals I scored for France, I had to play on the left. I didn’t hear anyone say, ‘Oh, what a nice gesture!’ to go on the left instead of players who had less goals and less caps.
Mbappe looked nailed on to leave PSG for Real Madrid on a free transfer but put pen to paper on a lucrative new three-year contract.
However, the latest is that his relationship with the Parisians is “completely broken”.
PSG apparently placed a £350 million price tag on their No.7, who has scored 183 goals for the Ligue One champions.
