Singer Rarara’s mother’s whereabouts still unknown despite suspects arrest
Despite the arrest of two suspects in connection with the kidnap of Hajiya Halima Adamu, mother of the famous Hausa Singer, Dauda Adamu Rarara, her whereabouts still unknown 24 hours after.
Recall that Hajiya Hauwa’u was kidnapped in the early hours of Friday from her residence in Kahutu village, Danja LGA and taken to an unknown location.
According to a source in the village, the bandits stormed the village around 1am Friday and abducted the aged woman.
“The bandits came on foot and silently because they did not fire a single shot during the operation that lasted for just a few minutes. The woman did not resist when the bandits requested her to go along with them.”
“Although the bandits met other people at the house, they only picked Rarara’s mother, leaving behind others. No attempt to confront the bandits while leaving the house because they were armed with guns”, the source said.

But hours later, the police in Katsina State said they have arrested two suspects in connection with the abduction.
The police spokesman in Katsina, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, in a statement Friday evening, said the two suspects were being interrogated by the authorities.
Attempt to speak to Rarara yesterday proved abortive as his mobile phone line was switched off, and he didn’t respond to a text message sent to him by our reporter.
Rarara was the chairman of presidential singers during the former President Muhammadu Buhari administration and his songs played significant role in mobilising supporters for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially amongst the Hausa speaking communities in Nigeria.
What do you know about Rarara?
Rarara, a prominent Hausa political singer in Nigeria, has had a notable career in the country’s political space, with his influence extending to national politics.
He was known for his support for Abdullahi T. Gwarzo, the former deputy governor of Kano State, and later rose to stardom with his hit song “Ruwa Baba” in 2007.
However, recent events surrounding his relationship with Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and President Muhammadu Buhari’s praise singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, have raised questions about the factors that led to their strained relationship.
The Fallout Between Rarara and Governor Ganduje
The relationship between Rarara and Governor Ganduje became strained after the singer declared his support for Sha’aban Sharada, a strong opponent of Ganduje’s anointed candidate Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna. This move was followed by the release of a song that allegedly ridiculed the governor, causing public outrage and insinuations that the governor ordered the demolition of the singer’s residence.
The Source of Discord: Unmet Demands or Ungratefulness?
According to a source close to the governor, Rarara made unreasonable demands as conditions for supporting the APC in the state. The source also claimed that Rarara was ungrateful for his success, as he believed he was responsible for Ganduje’s second term victory in 2019. On the other hand, Rarara has accused two unnamed colleagues of orchestrating a campaign against him.
