Police arrest suspended Kano anti-corruption commission boss, Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado
Former chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, has been arrested.
He was arrested on Monday by armed policemen at the Sokoto Governor’s Lodge in Abuja where he went for screening as Kano governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to reports.
The policemen, who have been lurking around the area in anticipation of his coming, sprang on him as soon as he completed his screening.
They took him to the FCT Command of the Nigeria Police Force where signal would be received to transport him to Kano to face criminal charges.
Previous attempts to arrest him in Kano were not successful as he outwitted the police all the time.
Earlier in March 28, police in Kano laid siege to Rimingado’s residence Yahaya Gusau Road, even though he shrewdly escaped arrest at the time.
Rimingado’s, an avid supporter and defender of Governor Ganduje, was suspended from the PCACC in July last year he fell out with hIs former benefactor.
On March 1, a Federal High Court sitting in Kano dismissed an ex parte application Rimingado filed, seeking to stop an investigative panel instituted by Kano State House of Assembly and restrain the police from investigating, arresting or intimidating him, pending the hearing and determination of subsisting court action instituted at state high court.
