Kwankwaso hits ADC campaign, urges party to address allegations against Atiku
Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has strongly criticized the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC), advising the team to address the serious allegations leveled against its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, by Vice President Kashim Shettima rather than attacking rival opposition tickets.
In a statement published on his official social media channels, the former Kano State Governor rejected rumors that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) plans to step down or align with the ADC ahead of the upcoming election.
Kwankwaso expressed “deep concern” over what he described as unnecessary and mischief-driven attacks directed at him, NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi, and the party at large. He accused the ADC campaign council of attempting to mislead the public by alleging that the NDC ticket is secretly working for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or planning a last-minute withdrawal in favor of Atiku Abubakar.
Kwankwaso challenged the ADC to focus its energy on defending its own ticket from high-profile political criticisms rather than targeting the NDC.
“The ADC-PCC would be better served directing its energy toward rebutting the serious allegations levelled against their candidate by the Vice President, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, instead of targeting me and His Excellency Peter Obi,” Kwankwaso stated.
He firmly dismissed suggestions of any last-minute political compromise, reaffirming that the Obi-Kwankwaso (“OK”) ticket remains fully in the race.
“Let me state clearly and unequivocally: we will not withdraw our candidature for the ADC or any other party. We remain confident in our capacity, competence, and readiness to lead Nigeria,” he added.
Rejecting any links to the ruling party or allegations of collusion, Kwankwaso reiterated that the OK ticket operates completely independently and presents the most viable platform for national leadership.
“The APC-led government has failed Nigerians. The ADC offers no better alternative,” Kwankwaso declared, describing the NDC platform as a “healing ticket” capable of tackling national challenges in security, the economy, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
He warned supporters to remain vigilant against potential misleading claims on the eve of the election and urged members of the public to stay committed to the NDC’s vision.
“The OK ticket is neither working for nor acting on behalf of the APC or any of its candidates. We see no possibility or reason to withdraw,” he concluded, adding his signature line: “Nigeria will be OK.”
