See Pep Guardiola’s list of six greatest football players of all time
Pep Guardiola has named the six football players he believes are the greatest of all time in the history of the game.
Guardiola is agreed to be one of the best managers ever having managed huge clubs like Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
The 53-year-old led City to a record-breaking fourth successive Premier League title during the 23/24 season after holding off a terse challenge from Arsenal.
Guardiola has managed some of the world’s best players throughout his career, including the likes of Lionel Messi, Kevin De Bruyne, Thierry Henry and Erling Haaland.
When paying tribute to Brazilian legend Pele after his death in 2022, Guardiola named six players he considers as the greatest of all time.
He said: “I never pretend to be Pele, honestly. I never saw him play, I spoke with people who said he was the greatest for them.
“What he has done, not just winning three World Cups, the goals and he was a new thing when he came up. I was not born when he was playing. It’s like a good movie, the legacy that we’re still talking about him, about a good movie, a good book, because he was so good.”

“They have done many things for many years, these types of players make our business, our job, a better place. What he produced for the feeling for the people. We have seen the World Cup, one team can produce for a country, it’s incredible. It’s not another event can produce this emotion. This part of exceptional players can produce the emotion for the players.”
In a lot of people’s eyes, Messi is the greatest of all time after he inspired Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar back in 2022.
