Jay-Z, Diddy’s accuser withdraws s£xual assault lawsuit
A lawsuit that accused Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2000 has been dismissed.
The plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe, initially filed the lawsuit against Combs in October 2024 and later amended it to include Jay-Z in December 2024.
The allegations claimed that both men drugged and raped her at an after-party following the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2000.
On February 16, 2025, Jane Doe’s attorney submitted a notice of voluntary dismissal in New York federal court.
This dismissal was “with prejudice,” meaning that the case cannot be refiled in its current form.
Jay-Z’s legal team expressed relief at the dismissal, stating that the allegations were false and should never have been brought to court. They emphasized that Jay-Z did not settle or pay any amount related to these claims.

Following the dismissal, Jay-Z issued a statement referring to the outcome as a “victory” and criticized the allegations as frivolous and fictitious.
He highlighted the emotional toll such accusations can take on individuals and their families. His attorney, Alex Spiro, reiterated that the case lacked merit from its inception.
In contrast, Combs’ legal representatives also declared his innocence and suggested that this dismissal would set a precedent for other similar lawsuits against him. They indicated confidence that future claims would also fail due to lack of evidence.
While Jay-Z is no longer facing legal action regarding this specific case, Sean Combs continues to contend with multiple civil suits alleging sexual misconduct. He is currently detained on federal charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking, with a trial scheduled for May 5, 2025.
