Bandits kill 5, injure 7 in new Kaduna attacks
Bandits, on Thursday, killed five persons at Manini village, near Kuriga, along Brinin- Gwari-Kaduna highway in Kaduna State, according to a statement issued on Friday by the chairman of Birnin- Gwari Vanguards for Security and Good Governance, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Nagwari.
Nagwari said two persons were killed in Birnin-Gwari, one in Kuriga and two others in Udawa while two women and five others sustained bullet wounds at about 4.30 p.m.
He said: “The bandits also burnt a tanker conveying 33,000 liters of fuel to Brinin- Gwari at the same Manini killing field.”
According to him, attacks and killings in the area happen virtually on a daily basis and the situation has worsened.
Nagwari noted that the precarious security situation on Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna highway and the displacement of communities by the terrorists in the entire emirate had escalated and affected movement of persons and goods.
He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently declare full-scale military bombardments of all bandits’ enclaves in Birnin Gwari forests and adjoining forests of Niger, Katsina and Zamfara states.
He also called for the establishment of a special JAMB/ CBT centre in Birnin-Gwari to give students there access to quality education since movement to Kaduna was now almost impossible due to the deteriorating security situation in the area.
