Oyetola emerges winner of Osun APC primary
Osun State governor, Gboyega Oyetola, has been declared winner of Saturday’s APC governorship primary election in the state.
Chairman of the committee in charge of the APC primary election in Osun state, Kwara State governor, Abdulrazak Abdulrahaman, announced Oyetola’s victory.
The committee chairman disclosed that Oyetola polled the highest votes of 222,169 out of the total votes cast of 235,550.
By this, Oyetola is the standard-bearer of the party for the July 16 governorship election in the state.
The committee collated the results of the votes in the presence of party agents, independent observers, INEC and other designated officials after returning officers came out one after another to present results from their various local government areas to the election committee. The chairman said one of the other two aspirants in the election, Moshood Adeoti, polled 12,921 votes, while the third, Yusuf Lasun polled 460 votes.
He said, “Total registered votes of members in all local government across the state was
408,697. Accredited voters were 247,207 while 235,550 eventually cast their votes.”
Razak Abdulrahaman appreciated all stakeholders in the party for making the election a free and fair one and charged them to work for deeper unity and progress of the party.
